As an impact driven organization, we believe in total immersion in the communities in which we operate. Bagaka Has adopted two non-profit organizations in the North West Province. These organizations were selected due to an aligned impact mission of youth development and nourishment through education.
Unathi
Bagaka Group visited Unathi Community Orphans Home in Mocoseng, Phefeni section, Mafikeng. Unathi orphanage supports foster homes caring for orphaned and vulnerable children. The home currently provides care for 96 children, majority of which are impacted and affected by HIV / AIDS.
The home is open in the day time, where children are provided meals, homework support and cognitive development activities to support their development. The home is a home away from home, with the aim of alleviating dropouts due to poverty, providing phsycho social outings, kids’ club and fight against drugs abuse.
The home is run by Mrs Gertrude Gobashe who has selflessly committed her life to assisting children. The home was established mainly because there were orphans who were subjected to child labour and not attending school when foster parents were out working.
The Firm has adopted P L Alumni (Reg No. 125-855 NPO). The objective at PL Alumni is to collaborate with Government in the cognitive development of future leaders. The Group aspires to contribute in building a South Africa that is economically enabling for all who live in it to achieve their dreams. The organisation was formed in 2013 by a group of youth from Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District who noticed that there were no educational activities that youth in the community could engage in after school, the purpose is to instill and encourage youth to understand the importance of education.
For the past seven years, the group has organized numerous community interventions including:
